I have been living in Sarasota for 14 years, and the Sarasota/Bradenton area is considered by many a “paradise”. Some of us chose to be here, some others were born and raised here, and some were brought here because of work or “life”. Either way, most of us love the area, and get to enjoy year round all the amazing things that tourists love and pay to have them for a few days while vacationing. So what is paradise? Definitely a city that is in front of the Gulf of Mexico and the bay has many pros (beautiful sunsets, best beach in the USA Siesta Key beach, nice calm ocean, an unforgettable view, where dolphins and manatees are a frequent sight, great fishing for those who enjoy it, cruising, dinner on a yacht, jet-skiing, kayaking, boating…). But that is just the beginning: great weather, a beautiful city, with a downtown area with its own personality, where you can find great boutiques, have a nice stroll followed by a great meal and maybe drinks and dancing later; great museums like the Ringling, mansions like the Cà d’Zan, history, music, theatre, shows, Van Wezel Performing Arts, comedy, circus, Selby Gardens, the best restaurants, great colleges and schools, beautiful neighborhoods, a great community, modern shopping malls like UTC … Let’s not forget about our beautiful neighbor Bradenton, home of the McKechnie Field, South Florida Museum home of Snooty the oldest manatee, Palma Sola, IMG Academy, amazing beaches, the Riverwalk, Village of the Arts… and I could go on and on. I am in love!
So what is it that makes this area a paradise for you? Why would you recommend this area to people looking to move to Florida?
